Pattie Knights - Founder of Wild Folk Sanctuary
Welcome to Wild Folk Sanctuary!
I am an artist, fully qualified counsellor with over 30 years experience of working with mental health and am currently a trainee forest bathing guide. Based near Bradford-on-Avon, I have a huge passion for nature, art and wellbeing. My truly happy place is without a shadow of doubt being surrounded by nature, swimming in the lakes and hiking in the Lake District when visiting Cumbria or getting fully immersed in my botanical plaster casting, all of which give me such a sense of joy, peace and stillness.
We all go through challenging times in our lives when our mental wellbeing is not at it's best. During these times in my life I have reached out to nature and it never fails to leave me feeling nurtured, healed and restored.
Connecting with nature and the positive impact on our mental health is backed by many years of research and science proving the many incredible health benefits, especially when combined with mindful activities such as forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), nature inspired creative art and writing, wild swimming, meditation and sound baths all of which I hope to be able to offer in the near future. Nature-inspired workshops are highly effective for mental well-being because they blend the restorative power of natural environments with structured, engaging activities that promote mindfulness and social connection. Research indicates that these activities can significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and depression by fostering a stronger connection with the natural world.

I am so looking forward to sharing this incredible experience with you and being the gateway between you and the natural world. Come and let nature feed your soul x
